AXIS: Journal of Lasallian Higher Education has announced several developments as the journal continues its mission of supporting and advancing Lasallian scholarship across higher education.
New Editor-in-Chief Appointed
Following the publication of Volume 18, Issue 1 in January 2027, Brother Bob Schieler, FSC, will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of AXIS. He succeeds Brother Bill Mann, FSC, who has led the journal with dedication and vision since the journal’s inception.
Brother Bill will remain involved with the editorial board for an additional two years to help ensure a smooth transition. AXIS is deeply grateful for his leadership and looks forward to the continued contributions he will make to the journal. AXIS is excited for the future of the journal under Brother Bob’s guidance and confident it will continue to grow as a leading voice for Lasallian scholarship.
Celebrating Dedicated Service
AXIS also extends its sincere appreciation to Brother Fred Mueller, FSC, and Alisa Macksey, who are concluding their service on the AXIS editorial board. Since joining the board in 2009 and 2015, respectively, Brother Fred and Alisa have provided invaluable expertise, wisdom, and leadership. Their commitment to advancing Lasallian scholarship has helped shape the journal’s success and impact, and AXIS thanks them for their many years of distinguished service.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Participation
As the journal enters this new chapter, efforts are underway to strengthen and diversify the editorial board. New members will be sought from across the Lasallian educational network to ensure the board reflects the breadth of perspectives, experiences, and scholarly interests found throughout our ministries.
In the coming months, the editorial board of AXIS, in collaboration with the Christian Brothers Conference, will invite letters of interest from individuals who wish to serve on the editorial board. This initiative is designed to broaden participation and encourage greater engagement in the journal’s important work.
