Students at Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore, MD are just a tap away from participating in prayer sessions this Lenten season.
Each Wednesday morning during Lent, Calvert Hall’s Campus Ministry Office sponsors Lenten small group prayer sessions for faculty, staff and students. The nearly 400 participants are turning to technology to pray by using smart phones or iPads instead of traditional prayer booklets. They are downloading a free application called “You Version” which allows them to follow along with prayer and small group discussion questions. The app also lets groups answer poll questions which everyone can view in real time.
This innovative approach to Lenten prayer not only allows students to embrace new technology, it is also environmentally friendly and supported by Calvert Hall’s Green Club.
