Campaign Launched to Promote Clean Energy and Combat Climate Change

Lasallians are encouraged to learn about and support a worldwide effort to promote clean and affordable energy and combat climate change.

For the past several years, the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools has been animating the extensive Lasallian educational network to advocate on behalf of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals were adopted by Member States in 2015 to advance efforts in ending poverty, protecting the planet and promoting both peace and prosperity.

For this academic year, the Institute’s Solidarity and Development Secretariat is promoting SDG 7, to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, and SDG 13, to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Through the campaign “Let’s Plant Seeds to Sow the Future,”  the Secretariat has made educational materials available in English, French, Spanish and Italian on its website

Lasallian ministries were each mailed five copies of the campaign poster. Additional copies are available through La Salle International Foundation by contacting Brother Craig Franz, FSC, at craig@lasalleinternational.org. To support this campaign, RELAN schools are encouraged to fundraise for a Lasallian agricultural project in Burkina Faso that teaches sustainable agriculture to budding farmers.
