Christian Brothers Investment Services Advocates Against Online Child Sexual Abuse

Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS) is leading a push in the tech industry to protect children around the world from online sexual abuse. CBIS recently filed a first-of-its-kind shareholder proposal with Verizon calling on the board to issue a report on the potential sexual exploitation of children through the company’s products and services. That proposal was supported by one-third of Verizon’s shareholders (33.9%) on May 2, 2019. CBIS will present a similar resolution to Sprint in August 2019, and it is working with investors and child protection experts in five countries to produce expectations for the tech sector in better protecting children online from sexual exploitation.
