LSJI Deadline Extended, Updates to Buttimer

LSJI Homepage ButtonRegistration for the Lasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI) 2016 has been extended to Friday, May 13, 2016. In addition to extending the registration date to May 13, LSJI participants will now be housed in a residence hall on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus rather than at the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel. Complimentary shuttle transportation will operate daily between the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus and Saint Mary’s University Center. Details on housing at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus and travel from the airport will be updated on the LSJI page.

Registration for the Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies I has reached capacity and is now closed. If you wish to be added to the waitlist, please contact Michele Beaubeouf here. Registration for Buttimer II and III has also been extended to Friday, May 13, 2016.

LSJI is a Lasallian formation program which centers on the Gospel call to peace and justice and our Lasallian invitation to “association for the educational service of the young, especially the poor.” On July 17-22, LSJI participants, in examining the theme “Human Trafficking in our Communities,” will explore the issue of human sex and labor trafficking in Minnesota and the scope and significance of human trafficking nationally and globally.

Buttimer ButtonThe Buttimer Institute is designed to inspire participants to delve more thoroughly into the Lasallian founding story and discover the basis of their vocation as educators. The program also seeks to deepen the participants’ association for the Lasallian mission and provide skills to become catalysts in their own ministries. The 2016 Buttimer Institute will take place June 26 – July 9 at Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga, California.
