The District of Eastern North America (DENA) celebrated the affiliation of Dr. Gabriel Moran, who served as a Brother of the Christian Schools for more than 30 years and continued his service to the Lasallian mission after leaving the Institute. As a Brother, he served as Visitor of the former Long Island-New England District. He taught in a variety of capacities in higher education, and over 55 years he published 28 books and more than 200 essays on religion, ethics and the nature of teaching.
Affiliation is the highest honor bestowed by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Those selected as affiliated members are people who, in recognition of their long-standing and exemplary association with the Brothers and their mission, are welcomed as honorary members of the Institute.
