The District of Eastern North America raised more than $60,000 to help Lasallians impacted by Superstorm Sandy. With nearly 20 ministries and Brothers’ communities in New York City and New Jersey, the October storm affected many young people and their families. To ease their stress, DENA organized a fundraiser through the Lasallian Solidarity Fund for Educational Support to help cover educational costs as families worked to get life back to normal. Almost 30 Brothers’ communities and Lasallian ministries in RELAN donated to the fundraiser, along with friends and families of Lasallians. The money is helping mainly students and families from the three hardest hit schools: De La Salle School, Freeport, NY; St. Peter’s Boys High School, Staten Island, NY; and Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Brooklyn, NY.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
