SUMMARY:Commemoration of the Transfer of the Relics of Saint John Baptist de La Salle
DESCRIPTION:John Baptist de La Salle was buried in the chapel of St. Suzanne on Holy Saturday\, April 8\, 1719. On July 6\, 1734\, his body was transferred to a chapel at Saint Yon. The tomb was vandalized during the French Revolution but the relics were not. In 1841\, the superiors received approval to have the relics moved to the Generalate. \n\n\n\nAfter the Brothers were expelled from France in 1904\, the relics were taken from Rouen to Lembecq-lez-Hal in Belgium. In 1937 they were transported to Rome where they arrived on January 26\, the anniversary of the promulgation in 1725 of the Bull of Approbation of the Institute. The relics are now in the church of Saint John Baptist de La Salle at the Generalate in Rome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more >

Raphaël Louis Rafiringa was born in Tananarive (Madagascar) on May 1\, 1856. \nHis indefatigable missionary effort suffered as a result of two wars\, one in 1883 and the other in 1895. As a result of his remarkable literary effort\, he was named a member of the Madagascan Academy. He died at Fianarantsoa on May 19\, 1919. \nOn Oct. 18\, 1979\, the Brothers of this great island requested of Pope John Paul II the introduction of the Cause of the Servant of God. \nMore from the Institute

SUMMARY:The Eucharistic Revival: Our Role in Lasallian Education Webinar
DESCRIPTION:This formation webinar is part of the Fall 2023 Webinar Series\, presented by the Lasallian Region of North America.  \nTHE EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL: OUR ROLE IN LASALLIAN EDUCATION\nDate: Tuesday\, September 12 at 6:00 p.m. ET \nSpeaker: Brother Mark Engelmeyer\, FSC\, Religion Teacher\, Central Catholic High School\, Pittsburgh\, PA \nWith churches having empty pews during Mass\, many Catholics not having an understanding of the Eucharist\, and more and more young people disaffiliating from the Church\, the United States Bishops have called for a three-year Eucharistic Revival. As one of the largest Catholic high school networks in the United States\, we as Lasallians have a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping the young entrusted to our care rediscover and grow in their love of Our Lord in the Eucharist. \nBased in the teachings of Saint John Baptist de La Salle\, this session will help educators effectively incorporate the Eucharistic Revival into their schools. \nREGISTER HERE
