DESCRIPTION:June 28 – July 11\nManhattan University\, Riverdale\, NY \nThe Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies is a three-year program designed to inspire Lasallian educators\, Brothers and Partners to delve more thoroughly into the Lasallian founding story through scholarly study\, to awaken the basis of their vocation as educators and nurture their personal\, professional and spiritual journey. This formation program also seeks to deepen association for the Lasallian mission and provide experiences to empower Lasallians to become catalysts in their own ministries. The Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies is an intensive Lasallian formation and education program that studies the life and work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the origins of the Lasallian mission. Through an examination of the writings of De La Salle and an analysis of some modern educators\, participants develop a deeper understanding of the Lasallian heritage and its influence on contemporary education. Community cohorts gather for three consecutive summers in two-week durations at Manhattan University in New York. \nLearn more and register by May 8\, 2026.

DESCRIPTION:The new sixth cohort of the Johnston Institute will gather as a Region at Lewis University in Romeoville\, Illinois\, from July 13-16\, 2026. This will be the first of six in-person gatherings across the two-year program. The theme of this first session will be the Lasallian founding story and vision. \nSee the full cohort VI schedule here. \n\nThe Brother John Johnston Institute of Contemporary Lasallian Practice is a two-year Regional formation program that focuses on deepening participants’ understanding of Saint John Baptist de La Salle’s story and vision\, Lasallian pedagogy\, the Lasallian promotion of justice and Lasallian spirituality while utilizing contemporary texts to inform and influence current and future Lasallian practice.

DESCRIPTION:“Child Poverty and the Work of Hope”\nJuly 20-24\, 2026 • Syracuse\, NY \nThe Lasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI) will take place in Syracuse\, New York\, where participants will explore the realities surrounding child poverty. Through partnerships with local community organizations\, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the lived realities of children and families experiencing poverty and the systemic forces that sustain it. Grounded in the Lasallian tradition and Catholic social teaching\, the weeklong program will explore several interconnected issues impacting child poverty in the Syracuse community\, including education\, housing instability and food insecurity. \nLearn more and register by May 8\, 2026.  \n\nLasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI) is a formation program based on the Gospel that serves to promote the continuing process of conversion to solidarity with persons in poverty and to provide an authentic response to the Gospel and our Lasallian vocation.
