The Huether 2020 Planning Committee has begun work to put together this year’s conference “Great Things are Possible: Our Lasallian Mission Reimagined and Renewed.” The gathering is currently scheduled from November 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Maryland. Utilizing Lasallian Reflection 5, Huether 2020 will focus on educational pathways to the future. Some guiding questions for this year’s conference include:
- Where are educational ministries going and what are the cutting-edge educational innovations (i.e. next practices) that are most effective and impactful for those students/clients who struggle?
- What are the challenges (e.g. stress, anxiety, trauma, mental health) as we look toward the future and what opportunities (e.g. resources, new models of community, innovative responses to challenges) will guide Lasallians in providing hope and security in our educational ministries?
- How can Lasallians continue putting creative energy and attention to those who need us the most?
Mindful of current realities surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and many of our ministries engaged in distance learning and remote work, a detailed call for breakout session presentations will be shared on Friday, May 22 and abstracts will need to be submitted by Wednesday, July 1.
As planning for this year’s conference continues, the Office for Lasallian Education at Christian Brothers Conference will continue to closely monitor concerns surrounding coronavirus. At this time, we are hopeful to hold the conference in person at the hotel. As you can imagine, this is an evolving situation, and we will develop alternate plans, as needed.
