The 2026 International Lasallian Days for Peace (ILDP) will take place starting on Sept. 21 — the United Nations’ sanctioned International Day of Peace — through Oct. 21. This year’s ILDP theme is “Peace by Piece: Building a Fraternal World,” inspired by the recent Lasallian Reflection, No. 12, “Building a Fraternal World: Pedagogy of Fraternity, Pedagogy of Encounter.”
In a letter, the Institute has invited all Lasallians, especially young Lasallians, to become peacemakers who foster a culture of encounter. “No single action will build a fraternal world,” it continued. “But thousands of small actions, undertaken by Lasallians across our global network, can make a difference.”
Following in the example of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, Lasallians are called to a more peaceful and fraternal world and is built not only through extraordinary moments, but through everyday acts of faith, kindness, justice, service, reconciliation, and respect for the dignity of every person.
Regional ILDP Instagram Challenge
In collaboration with 1 La Salle, ministries in the Lasallian Region of North America are encouraged to share moments of peace building within their communities on Instagram. “Peace by piece,” the Region wants to see all the ways Lasallians are creating peace, like prayer and worship; service to those most in need; acts of inclusion and reconciliation; Catholic Social Teaching; care for creation; advocacy for justice; classroom learning; artistic expression; simple daily moments that reveal God’s love; and more!
To participate in the challenge, submit your ministry photos here or tag @1lasalle.relan in your Instagram posts, invite us as a collaborator, and use the hashtags — #1LaSalle #ILDP2026 #1lasallerelan — so we can celebrate and share your witness with the global Lasallian family.
