Brother Michael J. McGinniss, FSC, Ph.D., president of La Salle University in Philadelphia, announced plans to step down after 15 years of service. He will remain in the leadership role until his current term ends May 31, 2014. A presidential search committee is being formed and it will begin work to find a replacement early this summer.
“It has been an honor to serve as President of La Salle University and I am proud of the initiatives completed during my tenure which have benefitted our students, faculty, alumni and surrounding community,” said Brother Michael. “After 15 years and three terms as La Salle’s president, and after much discernment, it seems like this is the right time for me to transition this work to a new President.”
Prior to his tenure at La Salle, Brother Michael served for five years as President of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.
