Lasallian Student Leaders Prepare for Year Ahead

Lasallian Student Leaders from the Districts of San Francisco and New Orleans – Santa Fe gathered at St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga from July 15-20 for inspirational and educational activities.

Focused on the five core principles of a Lasallian school, more than 200 participants and moderators took part in leadership skills training sessions, and faith and community building. Presentations included John Morello in Dirt, a one-man show about the effects of substance abuse and bullying; and Joseph Gilson, International Coordinator for Young Lasallians who spoke about how young people around the Institute are sharing in the Lasallian mission. Students will use the skills they learned at the gathering to help plan and carry out activities in the coming school year.

Students participated from the following schools: Cathedral High School, Los Angeles, CA; Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento, CA; De La Salle High School, Concord, CA; De La Salle High School, New Orleans, LA; De La Salle North Catholic High School, Portland, OR; Justin-Siena High School, Napa, CA; La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, Milwaukee, OR; La Salle High School, Pasadena, CA; La Salle High School, Yakima, WA; Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, San Francisco, CA; San Miguel High School, Tucson, AZ; St. Mary’s College High School, Berkeley, CA; St. Michael’s High School, Santa Fe, NM; and St. Paul’s High School, Covington, LA.
