Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, MO, will begin the new school year with a new president. Current school chaplain Rev. Stephen W. Jones will assume the leadership role for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Fr. Jones was ordained a priest for the diocese of Jefferson City in June 2012. He first entered the priestly ministry in 2001 as an Episcopal priest of Fort Worth, TX. He joined the Catholic priesthood under the Church’s “Pastoral Provision,” established by the late Pope John Paul II in 1980. The provision allows former Episcopalian priests to serve as Catholic priests in Catholic Dioceses of the United States. Fr. Jones, his wife and three children joined the Roman Catholic Church in spring of 2010.
Fr. Jones succeeds Didier Aur, who will return to his home of Memphis, TN, to become principal of Resurrection Catholic School.
