This volume contains all of the meditations written by Saint John Baptist de La Salle (1651–1719), founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and patron saint of all teachers. Written at various times in his life, these concise meditations were intended to serve as points for the Brothers to consider in their daily interior prayer. Reflecting the ideals and practices of French spirituality, they offer interesting insights into the beliefs and values of the Founder and serve as an inspiring guidepost to anyone in the ministry of education. The accompanying commentaries provide an excellent background on the historical period and the meditations.

Meditations by John Baptist de La Salle is part of the Lasallian Publications series, which produced volumes on the life, writings, and work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and on the early history of the Brothers.
