Themed “Navigating Our New Pathway,” the conference will feature speakers and activities that invite us to communally journey on our new pathway as secondary school chief administrators as we continue to navigate the pandemic and the pathways from the recent 46^th General Chapter.

Keynote Speaker

Lauren Casella, Ed.D., serves Loyola Marymount University as an assistant clinical professor in the School of Education and as director of the Catholic School Leadership Academy. In this role, Dr. Casella directs certificate and master’s programs in the department of educational leadership and administration. She enjoys her work in chairing doctoral student research in areas of belonging, teacher retention, Catholic school governance and social justice leadership. Dr. Casella is a national speaker on spiritual, social and emotional learning as well as Catholic school mission, identity and culture. Dr. Casella currently serves on the board of directors for the National Catholic Educational Association. Before entering higher education, she served in the Chicago Archdiocese as a teacher, administrator and elementary principal. Dr. Casella holds a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies from Loyola Marymount University, a master’s degree in leadership and supervision from Loyola University Chicago, and a doctor of education degree in educational leadership and teacher education from the University of Southern California. She holds an Illinois Administrative Credential, an Illinois Teaching License and a California Teaching Credential. Dr. Casella and her husband, Matt, their four children, Connor, Maren, Gavin and Emily, and their puppy, Wrigley, live in Southern California.

Cancellation Policy

Christian Brothers Conference will grant refunds for registration cancellations received on or before 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 3, 2023, less the $800.00 LASSCA membership fee and a $25.00 credit card processing fee. No refunds will be granted after February 3, 2023. Cancellation notices must be sent to Sarah Laitinen at slaitinen@cbconf.org. All refunds will be in the form of a check mailed within three weeks of receiving a written request.
