San Miguel HS Appoints New Principal

John OmernikSan Miguel High School in Tucson, AZ, has announced a new principal for the 2014 – 2015 school year. John Omernik has been appointed to the position and has an extensive background in education, including working in schools for underserved youth.

Omernik’s Lasallian connection began in 2001 when he served at De Marillac Academy in San Francisco, CA, as a teacher, director of finance, director of technology, and principal. He has also participated in the Lasallian Leadership Institute, a former Regional formation program. Other leadership experience includes serving as principal of St. Ignatius School in the Bronx, NY, when he moved there in 2007.

Omernik will begin his new role effective July 1 and will succeed current Principal Richard Reyes, who will retire from San Miguel this year.
