Brother William Mann discusses the iPad initiative.
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (SMU) introduced its new iPad learning initiative in a May 7th demonstration on the Minneapolis campus with President Brother William Mann. SMU is incorporating iPads into some online graduate programs this month with an app that combines coursework with social media. Students can share projects, notes, media, and ideas, and can use it to communicate instantly with teachers and classmates.
Each student will receive an iPad preloaded with programs and resources to access the online learning environment, electronic resources, content-creation tools, and student services. The initiative is deeply integrated into the curriculum of the programs and is designed to meet the needs of adult learners. It also promotes and extends the “anytime, anyplace” advantage of online learning.
