State of Illinois Honors St. Pat’s

The Illinois State Historical Society (ISHS) honored the Christian Brothers and Saint Patrick High School in Chicago at the 27th Annual Centennial Awards Ceremony in Springfield, IL September 24. Recognizing the school’s 150 years of educational excellence, the society presented St. Pat’s with a Centennial Award inscribed by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and ISHS President Russell Lewis.

“We are honored to be showcased as part of such an elite group of organizations,” said principal Dr. Joseph Schmidt, AFSC. “The Christian Brothers commitment to education in Illinois as witnessed by the longstanding tradition at Saint Patrick and several other schools in the Chicago area is a source of pride for our community.”

The Centennial Awards Program honors Illinois enterprises that have achieved or surpassed the century mark in continuous operation and celebrates their contributions to the state.
