Summer Programs Registration to Open in Mid-February

Christian Brothers Conference will offer formation programs during the summer of 2023, and registration will open in mid-February.

The Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies will be held Sunday, June 25 – Saturday, July 8 at Manhattan College in New York. Buttimer is an intensive Lasallian education and formation program that studies the life, work and spirituality of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the origins of the Lasallian educational mission. The Buttimer I class is capped to 40 participants through a first-come, first-served registration process (completing the registration form and submitting payment via credit card). Those interested in beginning Buttimer are encouraged to register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot. Learn more about Buttimer >

The Lasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI) will take place July 17-21 at the La Salle Educational Center in Homestead, Florida. LSJI is based on the Gospel and our Lasallian vocation to the promotion of social justice and service to the poor. This year’s program will create awareness of the present reality of the immigrant community in Homestead. Over the week, participants will have an opportunity to interact with the local community, visit local agencies and gain perspective on the immigrant experience. LSJI is capped to 14 participants through a first-come, first-served registration process (completing the registration form and submitting payment via credit card). Those interested in attending LSJI are encouraged to register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot. Learn more about LSJI >

Cohort IV of the Brother John Johnston Institute of Contemporary Lasallian Practice began last summer and will continue through its two-year programmatic duration with a Regional gathering at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. The cohort is closed. Registration for cohort V will open in February 2024.

The process to nominate or select participants is determined by ministries and/or Districts. Chief administrators are invited to use this guide to help determine which formation program is the right fit for colleagues.
