General Councilors Brother Gustavo Ramirez Barba, FSC, and Brother Rafa Matas, FSC, recently visited the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN), making stops in each of the four Districts. Brother Gustavo, General Councilor for Association and Mission, and Brother Rafa, General Councilor for Lasallian Family and Vocations, visited the Districts to gain a better understanding of how association is lived and what is being done to support and encourage association.
While in the District of Eastern North America (DENA), the General Councilors spent time with senior Brothers at De La Salle Hall in Lincroft, New Jersey, gathered with two association groups, attended a reception and meeting with the District Council and Mission Executive Council, and heard about efforts surrounding Young Lasallians. In the District of San Francisco New Orleans, Brothers Gustavo and Rafa visited several locations in California, including Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory and De Marillac Academy, both in San Francisco, Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, and Mont La Salle and Justin-Siena High School, both in Napa. In the Midwest District, in Illinois, the Brothers visited Christian Brothers Services and Lewis University, both in Romeoville, the Novitiate and De La Salle Institute, both in Chicago, and the Midwest District office in Burr Ridge. While in the Francophone Canada District, Brothers Gustavo and Rafa met with the District’s Association Committee and attended regular meetings of the Mission Committee and District Council.
