Young Lasallians in the United States and Toronto Region will gather at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee from June 20 to 26. This is the first time Lasallians from all Districts in the Region between the ages of 21-35 will assemble as a group. At least 35 people are expected to attend.
The event aims to foster the growth of the Young Lasallian movement in the Region and in the world, provide formation and strengthen networking. Presenters from the Lasallian world will address various topics, including the life of the founder, Lasallian pedagogy, leadership in our ministries and the essential role of young people in service and social justice. Participants will also receive a “tool kit” to help them develop formation experiences and programs for Young Lasallians in their respective Districts.
The first Young Lasallian Regional gathering, known as VEGA (the brightest star), was held in the European Region (Région Lasallienne Européenne-Méditerranéenne) in 2009. VEGA is also the acronym for Vedere, Giudicare, Agire in Italian, which means to see, to judge, to act. These words represent the story of De La Salle and those who follow in his footsteps.
