August 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Date: Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT

Speakers: Dr. Jaclyn Doherty and Dr. Nabil Tueme of Springtide Research Institute

Drawing on national survey and interview findings from Springtide Research Institute, this session examines how teachers and mentors shape young people’s sense of vocation and belonging. Participants will explore how educators help students develop confidence in their gifts, expand their sense of what futures are possible, and make meaning of their experiences. Particular attention will be given to how language can communicate different expectations around certainty, agency, pressure, and exploration.

This session invites educators to reflect on how relationships, language and everyday interactions can help young people feel seen, supported and capable of building meaningful lives. The webinar will also consider how vocation and belonging are interconnected. Participants will leave with practical strategies for fostering reflective conversations and creating environments that support both belonging and vocational exploration.
