Lasallian Research Grants

Lasallian Research Grants are designed to encourage further studies related to the Lasallian tradition. In 2024, grants requests focused on the following areas will be funded: Lasallian pedagogy, Lasallian spirituality, interfaith approaches to Lasallian ministries, and women in the Lasallian mission.

Administered by Christian Brothers Conference (CBC), the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) has established the Lasallian Research Grants to foster and support research related to Lasallian studies.

Eligibility

University faculty, graduate students, doctoral candidates and independent scholars, particularly those who are interested in expanding their research areas into the Lasallian tradition, are encouraged to apply.

Grants are open to the above applicants who are researching a Lasallian topic with the intent of authoring an article, book, or other appropriate publication.

Award

Lasallian Research Grants will be up to $3,000.

Conditions

Preference is for applicants associated with a higher education institution. Applicants will follow their institution’s research/IRB practices and their institution will serve as their fiscal sponsor.

Recipients are expected to acknowledge the grant in any publications that result, in whole or in part, and provide Christian Brothers Conference with copies of any publication that results, in part or in whole, from the grant. Grant recipients will be featured through various CBC communication channels.

If awarded a grant, recipients may be asked to participate in one to two interviews about their project and the results of their research.

Applicants may receive no more than one RELAN grant in any calendar year. Research and use of the grant funds are generally expected within a year of the grant award. The grant administrator will request occasional status reports.
