A De La Salle Christian Brother for 60 years, Brother Dominic was born James Louis Bedor in St. Paul, MN, the son of Louis and Margaret (Wimmer) Bedor. He graduated from Cretin H.S. in St. Paul and then entered the novitiate of the Brothers in 1952 in Glencoe, MO. He professed his final vows in 1959. Brother Dominic earned a BA degree in 1956 and a M.Ed. in 1961 both from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN.

During his years as an educator, he taught at St. Patrick H.S. and De La Salle Institute in Chicago, Lewis University in Romeoville, IL, and Providence H.S. in New Lenox, IL. He also taught at Gabriels H.S. in Lansing, MI, and at Bishop Gallagher H.S. in Harper Woods, MI. He was a teacher and volunteer at Driscoll Catholic H.S. in Lombard IL, from 1992 until 2009.
