Brother Superior Armin Luistro, FSC, has appointed Brother Matthew Kotek, FSC, of the Midwest District, as one of five new members of the Standing Committee of Young Brothers. Brother Matthew represents the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN).
The committee is a response to the 46th General Chapter’s call to create a group of young Brothers that will organize international assemblies of young Brothers, collaborate with Regional meetings of young Brothers, and support the International Vocation Team and the International Council of Young Lasallians. Over three years, the committee will help to implement proposals from the 46th General Chapter, the II International Young Brothers Assembly (IYBA) and the III International Assembly of the Lasallian Educational Mission (AIMEL).
Brother Matthew is a member of the DeLaSalle High School community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and serves on the Midwest District’s vocations team. He has served at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee; Collège De La Salle in Cairo, Egypt; and with the Fratelli Project in Lebanon.
Committee members representing the other Regions of the Institute include Brother Arockia Samy, Jr., FSC, (PARC); Brother Eduardo Rivera, FSC, (RELAL); Brother Urbain Andrinirina, FSC (RELAF); and Brother Miguel Marcos, FSC (RELEM).
