Lasallian educators in Europe have come together to create ways to increase students’ achievement in foreign languages and information technology. The Centro La Salle in Los Corrales de Buelna in Cantabria, Spain is coordinating the “Cultural Jigsaw” project and connecting its teachers with other Lasallian teachers in Latvia, England and Turkey. At the recent gathering in Latvia, the group shared information on how the different countries incorporate aspects of traditional culture into their curricula, such as storytelling, music, and traditional dances. Previous meetings were held in Los Corrales, Spain and Turkey. The group will gather for two more meetings during the current school year, before bringing the project to a close.
