Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley recently donated $25,000 to De La Salle Institute. Daley, a 1960 graduate of De La Salle, was honored for his successful community building with the 2010 Urban Land Institute’s J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. The award included $100,000, which Daley split between four Chicago organizations.
Fr. Paul Novak, OSM, President of De La Salle, represented the school at the award luncheon. “On behalf of the 1,200 young women and young men who call De La Salle home, as well as our faculty, staff and alumni, we thank Mayor Daley for the exemplary kindness and generosity he extended toward his alma mater,” he said.
