How does a spiritual charism endure through revolution, global expansion and profound cultural change? In this webinar, Brother George Van Grieken, FSC, will explore three pivotal moments in the history of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools through the leadership of Brother Agathon, Brother Philippe, and Brother John Johnston. Each faced radically different historical crises — from the French Revolution to worldwide institutional growth and the post–Vatican II renewal of religious life — yet each responded in ways that preserved and re-expressed the Lasallian charism. Drawing from the book “Holy Audacity: A Short History of the Lasallian Charism & Mission,” the webinar will highlight how faith, zeal and association were continually adapted to new realities and invite participants to reflect on what this legacy of “holy audacity” means for Lasallian schools, communities and ministries today.
