On Nov. 21, 1691, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, Brother Nicolas Vuyart and Brother Gabriel Drolin professed the Heroic Vow, committing themselves to the establishment of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools despite any obstacles they might encounter.
