Instituto Fe y Vida (Institute for Faith and Life) in Stockton, CA has launched its First Biblical Mission among Spanish-speaking youth and young adults in the Americas. The mission is part of its Biblical Pastoral Initiative and carries the motto “God’s Word is Alive in Young People.”
The Biblical Mission has three main goals: to bring the Word of God to young people through contemporary means, to promote the evangelizing vocation of young Catholic leaders, and to create a sense of the universal church in Catholic youth and young adults.
Instituto Fe y Vida has been working on this project for three years and the free materials are now available in Spanish on a new website. The English version will be available in 2011. The mission consists of three stages: familiarizing leaders with the materials and identifying young people to serve as missionaries, training missionary teams, and implementing the mission.
Instituto Fe y Vida began in 1994 and it has been a pioneer in providing young adult leaders and ministers with the knowledge, skills and tools to promote evangelization, faith formation, and leadership development among young people, particularly Latinos in the United States.
