Kickoff for the 4th International Symposium of Young Lasallians (ISYL)

The 4th International Symposium of Young Lasallians (ISYL) is underway after a virtual kickoff celebration took place June 30, 2021. “United in Community and Mission: Being Protagonists of the Future!” is the theme of the symposium, which happens every seven years. The symposium will be held in two phases. The first phase will take place online in October, and the second phase will be an in-person gathering in 2022.

Districts and ministries from across the Lasallian world will send two Young Lasallian delegates to each symposium. The Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) is represented by Amanda Dutra and Fatou Sow from Christian Brothers University. The Districts are represented by Justin Martineau and Julia Turner (District of Eastern North America), Abby Michels and Regina Bettag (Midwest District) and Kenenna Amuzie and Matthew Chiantella (District of San Francisco New Orleans.)

In the coming months, ISYL delegates will be collaborating, learning and creating proposals that will address the topics of culture of vocations, service with the poor, communications and networking, and sustainable organizational growth. The proposals that the delegates develop will be part of a seven-year plan for Young Lasallians.
