La Salle University Students Win International Film Award

Five La Salle University (LSU) students won first place for “Best Story” at the Campus MovieFest (CMF) Golden Tripod Awards in Hollywood on June 23. The film “Empty Pages,” produced by Andrew Groy, Dave Grzybowski, Sean Gubitosi, Mike McCoy and Catherine Zini of LSU’s Department of Communication, was selected from nearly 200 award-winning entries by students.

The international film festival is the largest in the world and CMF is the only event of its kind to provide Apple laptops, Panasonic HD camcorders, and training all for free to students around the globe. Students at participating colleges and universities have one week to create their own short movies of five minutes or less, with each school hosting red carpet finales to showcase its top movies. The CMF reviewers select the best to compete at Campus MovieFest in Hollywood.
