For the 10th year, Lasallian Volunteers (LVs) are preparing for their annual LVs Run, which will take place on October 31, 2015, at Firefighter’s Field on Roosevelt Island in New York City. LVs, alums and supporters will gather to run a 5K/10K in collaboration with NYCRUNS.
The first LVs Run occurred in 2006, when then-LV Adriana Rodriguez ran the New York City marathon to raise money for the program. This event is the primary fundraiser for the LVs and serves as an opportunity to share about their year of faith, service and community.
The fundraising goal, set by this year’s cohort, is $85,000. Opportunities to support the LVs can be achieved through running, volunteering at the race, sponsoring LVs Run or donating to an individual LV.
LVs Run has been held in Philadelphia, Newport (Rhode Island), Memphis, Minneapolis, Tulsa, and St. Louis, raising almost $350,000 over the years to support LVs.
