Lasallian Women of Hope (LWH) has partnered again with FairTrade Caravans this holiday season to raise money to support women and girls in our Lasallian family around the world. Between November 15 – December 10, 2024, LWH will receive 25% of FairTrade Caravans’ product sales to fund both a critical water, sanitation and hygiene project for the young women at a Lasallian school in India and a menstrual health education project at a Lasallian all-girls school in Pakistan.
The Holiday Fair Trade Fundraiser features one-of-a-kind handcrafted gods from farmers and artisans around the globe, including holiday decor, gifts, jewelry, accessories and home goods as well as coffee, tea and honey. FairTrade Caravans’ products are made in safe working conditions with sustainable practices. They do not use child labor and offer fair pay for all employees.
A project of the Solidarity and Development Secretariat and highlighted in this year’s 1 La Salle Campaign, Lasallian Women of Hope fosters educational access, empowers girls and women, and creates sustainable change. Its mission is to ensure girls and women enjoy full access to education. LWH began as a small project providing grassroots female empowerment while developing sustainable solutions to mitigate obstacles impeding educational access. Through its grants, LWH delivers creative, effective and durable solutions to educational inequities for girls and women.
