Courtesy Midwest District

Longtime supporters of the Lasallian mission, Gary Oberste and Marianne Stich, were honored on October 8, 2017, with Letters of Affiliation (AFSC), making them honorary members of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The event took place at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oberste currently serves as dean of student activities, and Stitch served as the director of campus ministry until her retirement, both at Bishop Kelley.

The Letters were awarded by Brother Larry Schatz, FSC, the Midwest District Visitor and Brother Richard Merkel, FSC, technology assistant at Bishop Kelley and director of the Bishop Kelley Brothers community. Letters of Affiliation are the highest honor the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools can bestow on lay people and are approved by Brother Superior General Robert Schieler, FSC.
