Letters of Affiliation to SFNO Lasallian Partner

The District of San Francisco New Orleans honored Carole Swain with Letters of Affiliation (AFSC) from the Brothers of the Christian Schools in a May 17 ceremony at Mont La Salle in Napa, California.

Swain has been a Lasallian Partner, embodying association and being of service to the Lasallian mission, for over 35 years. She served 30 years at Saint Mary’s College of California in a number of roles, including director of the elementary education department, Lasallian Studies Masters, Lasallian Educator Fellowship, dean of mission and faculty development, co-founder of the Teachers for Tomorrow program and the college’s first vice president for mission. She has served regionally on the Lasallian Education Council and internationally on the planning team for International Association for Lasallian Universities. Swain was a board member of the Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies.

Affiliation is a formal recognition and acknowledgement extended by the Institute to those persons who have supported the Brothers in their work, not only through outstanding gifts and services, but also through their professional, personal and fraternal relationship with them. In presenting to them Letters of Affiliation, the Brothers welcome and celebrate affiliates as honorary members of the Institute.
