Throughout the weekend of November 1-3, Lasallian Volunteers (LVs) gathered from around the country in Chicago for the 8th Annual LVs Run, which was held in collaboration with the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K.
Approximately 100 current LVs, alumni, family, friends, and De La Salle Christian Brothers gathered to celebrate the LVs 25th Anniversary with the race on Sunday and a pre-race dinner and Mass on Saturday. Dinner was held at De La Salle Institute in Chicago where people celebrated the fundraising success of the run. Unofficially, more than $80,000 has been raised this year – a record-breaking amount.
The run committee consisted of five second-year LVs: Julia Walsh, Patrick Blythe, Whitney Wozniak, Jackie Markowski, and Megan Davison. The Benilde-De La Salle Community on the south side of Chicago hosted Brothers and LVs for a sweet weekend that will never be forgotten!

After its unofficial beginnings in 2006, LVs Run officially started in 2007 with 18 LVs and friends running the Chicago Marathon and raising more than $28,000. Since then, LVs Run has been held in Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Memphis, Minnesota, and Tulsa raising almost $400,000 over the years, including this year, to support LVs.
