NCEA: A Cincinnati Wrap-up and a Call For Proposals

The annual National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) Convention and Expo was held from April 3 – 5, 2018, at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Students and faculty from La Salle High School in Cincinnati joined colleagues from around the archdiocese to host the event, which attracted approximately 5,000 guests.

Education professionals from around the country gathered to not only celebrate the rich heritage of Catholic education in the United States, but to explore new trends, to examine best practices, and to network and build relationships with those doing similar work.

Catholic School Management, a Lasallian ministry and division of Christian Brothers Services, not only exhibited at the Expo, but presented in five different professional development sessions.

The 2019 NCEA Convention and Expo will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago. With the rich experience and tradition of the Lasallian mission, particularly in light of the Year of Lasallian Vocations and the 300th anniversary of Saint John Baptist de La Salle’s entry into eternal life, consider submitting a proposal to present at one of the 200+ professional development sessions that will take place. NCEA is seeking proposals centering on at least one of the following broad topics:

  • Administrator’s Toolbox
  • Innovation
  • Inclusive Communities
  • Missionary Discipleship
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Teaching and Learning

Lasallians are closely aligned with the needs of NCEA through our traditions of taking “care that (our) school runs well,” of innovation, of building and nurturing inclusive communities, of serving in a way reflective of missionary discipleship, of operating successful schools because of a tradition of strategic leadership, and of always focusing on the learning that takes place within our ministries.
