New AXIS Features History of Buttimer

A new issue of AXIS: Journal of Lasallian Higher Education is now available, which includes a look at the beginnings of the Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies.AXISLogo

Brother William Mann, FSC, president of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, wrote the article to outline the start of Buttimer, a formation program of Christian Brothers Conference, and how it evolved from its beginning in 1986 into the three-year program it is today.

The issue also includes articles addressing topics such as the Lasallian tradition and American culture, together and by association in a pluralistic society, and the revised research agenda of the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU).

AXIS is published three times a year by Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and exists to encourage and share original scholarly and creative works about, and texts of historic significance to, Lasallian Catholic higher education. It is available online and in print through www.lulu.com, an on-demand print service.
