James Tierney, Ph.D., was named as principal of Cretin-Derham Hall (CDH) in St. Paul, Minnesota, effective July 9. The appointment follows the retirement of Mona Passman, who served the school for 26 years.
A CDH alumnus, Dr. Tierney has more than 16 years of leadership in Catholic and public education. Most recently, he ran an independent educational consulting practice, where he partnered with schools throughout the Midwest, including CDH, and provided faculty professional development and instructional coaching.
Dr. Tierney holds a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University as well as a master’s degree and doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Minnesota.
