A Lasallian from the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) will lead efforts of Young Lasallians for the Institute. Superior General Brother Robert Schieler, FSC, has appointed Antoine Béland, from the District of Francophone Canada, as the new Institute coordinator of Young Lasallians.

For several years, Antoine has supported the Lasallian mission as a leader of youth camps and by participating in the International Symposium of Young Lasallians in 2013. Antoine is a member of the Councils of Young Lasallians for both the Region and the Institute.

“This position is one of inclusion and collaboration,” wrote Antoine. “I’m proud to represent my District of Canada Francophone and RELAN, but I’m also proud to represent every other part of the Lasallian world, since I am working for everybody. Young people have to feel like they belong to this great international family; they have to be as welcomed as I was.

If there is one thing that I particularly want to work on in the next years it would be this: to promote and facilitate communication and sharing of experiences, resources and news between youth from all corners of the Institute. It’s an ambitious mission, but I can guarantee you I’m not alone in this!”

Antoine replaces Joseph Gilson, who served as the first coordinator for the past six years.
