Congratulations to San Miguel School in Tulsa, OK for winning a trip to the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida in June. The eighth grade class was one of four finalists in the nationwide “Most Extraordinary Class” competition, sponsored by NBC’s TODAY show and Universal Studios.
All four finalists were surprised to learn on live television Thursday morning that they were all going on the trip! Teacher Anna Sullivan submitted a three minute video, which helped her students get into the final four.
“We’re all hyped,” said eighth grader Jesus Carvajal. “This will be such a positive experience for everyone. We are all so excited.”
“For the majority of these kids, it will be the first time they have flown on an airplane or stayed in a hotel. They have worked so hard for this,” Sullivan said. “I’m so happy for them. I had to try very hard to not cry on national television.”
The 19 graduating eighth graders and chaperones will make the trip to Universal Studios from June 17-20.
