Brother Superior General Robert Schieler, FSC, received an honorary doctorate of educational leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (SMUMN) in Winona, during a Founder’s Day celebration on March 12, 2019. The honorary doctorate recognizes Brother Robert’s dedication to the Lasallian charism, especially his service to the poor and his commitment to education.
With the presentation of this honor, Brother Robert has now received honorary doctorate degrees from all six Lasallian colleges/universities in the United States. In the spring of 2016, Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York and Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, bestowed the honor to Brother Robert. In Autumn 2015, the Superior General received doctorates from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, California.
