Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University, Brother Peter Bray, FSC, spoke at the World Congress “Educating Today and Tomorrow: A Renewing Passion” in Rome on November 21, 2015. This year the Congregation for Catholic Education is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration Gravissimum Educationis and the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae. The Congregation organized the World Congress to re-energize the Church’s commitment to education.
During his address to Pope Francis, Brother Peter remarked, “We are seeking to create an atmosphere, develop an environment, and provide opportunities for our students to learn the skills, acquire the attitudes and values that will enable them to live life as fully as they can in the midst of the difficulties they face.”
