Overview

Encountering Lasallian Spirituality: A Retreat will provide an opportunity for Lasallians in the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) and beyond to gather and reflect on the enduring force of spirituality that is the Lasallian charism. Interweaving reflective retreat elements and practical sessions, Encountering Lasallian Spirituality will offer participants a reflective environment in which to step back from the busyness of everyday life. In deepening our connections with God, each other and De La Salle’s legacy, participants will find renewal, emboldening each of us to further integrate Lasallian spirituality into our lives.
The retreat will cover three thematic areas that address:
- the dynamics of Lasallian spirituality
- the development of spirituality and Lasallian spirituality
- Lasallian spiritual leadership
With the responsibility of providing a “human and Christian” education, Lasallians have the privilege of authentically carrying their spirituality into their professional relationships, offering hope to those they serve and accompany. Lasallians have the responsibility of breathing spiritual life into their ministries, inspiring faculty, staff, students and the community to ongoing spiritual reflection, growth and integration. An essential element of spiritual development consists of taking time to intentionally reflect on the past, ground oneself in the present and look ahead to the future. We invite all Lasallian educators to consider attending the Encountering Lasallian Spirituality retreat.
Schedule Overview
Encountering Lasallian Spirituality will open with Mass on Monday, Nov. 3, at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and welcome remarks. Mass will be celebrated as a community each day. The program will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Participants are encouraged to arrange return travel for Thursday, Nov. 6 in the morning, allowing for full participation in this formation experience.
