For Lasallian student-athletes and coaches, the experience of training and competition is often as formative and spiritually impactful as their experiences in the classroom or in the chapel.
In this webinar, we will consider the unique spiritual gifts the Lasallian tradition offers student-athletes, coaches and the scholastic communities they serve. We will begin conceptually by examining the ways in which a Pedagogy of Fraternity animates a Lasallian spirituality of sport. We will then unpack the role of coach as teacher, discuss the challenges and pleasures of attending the spiritual health of an increasingly diverse student body, and consider the utility of sport in a holistic Catholic education. Finally, we will offer concrete strategies to integrate Lasallian spirituality and Lasallian core principles into athletic programs.
