The Lasallian Mission
Learn MoreThe Lasallian mission embodies the vision and innovative spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of all teachers and founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle Christian Brothers). The Lasallian mission provides a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor. In the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN), the mission serves more than 100,000 people through a network of 100+ colleges/universities, secondary schools, middle and elementary schools, and other ministries in the United States and Canada.
Saint Miguel Febres Cordero, FSC, was an accomplished teacher and scholar who struggled with physical infirmities all his life. A widely recognized researcher and author, he nonetheless preferred teaching, especially at the Brothers’ junior novitiate in Premià de Mar, Spain, where he led his charges to safety during an anti-clerical uprising in 1909. Brother Miguel died of pneumonia at age 55. He is remembered for his academic accomplishments, humility and devotion to his students. 🙏 We also celebrate our San Miguel Schools on this feast of their patron saint.
