Brother Kevin Dalmasse, RIP

Brother Kevin Dalmasse, FSC, of the District of Eastern North America, died suddenly on October 6, 2020, at the Central Catholic High School Community in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brother Kevin was known as a dedicated teacher and passionate speech and debate coach. He is also remembered as having a significant impact on education and formation programs in the Lasallian Region of North America. He served at Christian Brothers Conference (CBC) as director of education (2003-2010) where he led the growth of the Huether Lasallian Conference and emphasized making it accessible to all Lasallian educators. He also worked with chief administrators to create the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators (LASSCA). As he departed CBC in 2010 to return to teaching, Brother Robert Schieler, FSC, then General Councilor, wrote, “Leadership, vision and a commitment to excellence are the hallmarks of Brother Kevin’s time as Regional Education Director.

In reflecting on the impact Brother Kevin had on Regional programs, Mark Freund, executive director of the Office for Lasallian Education at CBC, shared, “Brother Kevin’s work in building opportunities for association and insuring the quality of formation programs is a gift to all Lasallians in RELAN.”
