The Brothers of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, New York, hosted the affiliation of George Bruns Ph.D., AFSC, on September 18, 2021. Bruns, a 1966 graduate of Manhattan College, continues to support the Lasallian mission. Since the early 1990s, he has been a member of The Familiares, a group of professionals formed to give counsel to and raise financial support for the Christian Brothers, holding the position of president for the last 10 years.
Approved by the Superior General, Letters of Affiliation are the highest honor the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools can bestow on lay people, making them an honorary member of the Institute.
